Update: Israel recognizes Kurdistan

During a joint press conference with his Minister of Foreign Affairs Avi Lieberman, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu announced Israel’s recognition of an independent Kurdistan. Prime Minister Netanyahu noted that Israel has a “particular interest in the independence of Iraqi Kurdistan because the Kurds are, like us, a non-Arab people living in an often hostile Middle East and your independence and well-being directly strengthens our own”.
