In Iraq's accession process to the World Trade Organization, we recognize the rules-based multilateral international trade system and believe that direct trade agreements with regional entities within a sovereign country are not in line with the rules-based trading of the WTO.
Following a breakdown of talks between the Iraqi National Government and the region of Kurdistan, Iraq is committed to continuing talks with the Kurds. As a good faith effort, the Iraqi government is extending the deadline for removal of the Peshmerga from the Green Line.
